The CDK data breach has slowed dealership and repair shop sales and forced auto dealerships and repair centers, and other businesses, to find alternative methods to order parts, and produce titles, contracts, leases, registration cards and other forms that must be delivered to customers, banks, and state departments of motor vehicles. Some impacted businesses have resorted to writing contracts by hand and asking customers to wait days to take delivery of their vehicles. Vehicle services and repairs have hit a standstill in some cases because necessary parts cannot be ordered.

In addition, the breach has potentially exposed the sensitive personally identifiable information of millions of consumers.
